Pasadena Conservatory of Music Hosts Songs About Place featuring Anthony Wilson and The Curators

The Pasadena Conservatory of Music will present Anthony Wilson and The Curators performing original works on Sunday at 4 p.m.

The event will be held a private residence in South Pasadena.

The Pasadena Conservatory of Music provided the following event detail:

Jazz guitarist, composer, and arranger Anthony Wilson and The Curators--keyboardist Larry Goldings, drummer Barbara Gruska of The Belle Brigade,
violinist and singer Petra Haden, and bassist Gabe Noel will perform
Wilson's original works written about geographies both familiar and
strange. Influenced by his surroundings at home in Los Angeles, as well
as places that have inspired
him while touring throughout the U.S. and overseas, Wilson starts with
the impressions left by many different towns and cities, specific
landscapes and buildings, even rooms, and translates them into a musical
form.

The progressive concert will take place in and around
the extraordinary Sobieski family residence in South Pasadena, which
"unfolds like a series of art-filled pavilions, with life spilling out
into the garden spaces" ("L.A. Times").

A flight of three wines—sparkling, white, and red—selected by Wilson (a natural-wine hobbyist); imported by Selection Massale in
San Leandro, California; and sourced from small growers and producers
in France who work sustainably in their vineyards and traditionally in
the cellar, is included in the price of admission.

Guests will meander through indoor and outdoor
environments, guided by wine pairings and performances throughout the
property.

$50 general admission (includes wine flight)

All proceeds will benefit the future of this new public
concert series, which aims to provide a diverse program of free
performances to the Pasadena community and beyond.
