Patch Blog: Adoptable Pets at San Gabriel Valley Humane Society

Just a few of the many wonderful pets at the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society are featured.

The San Gabriel Valley Humane Society, located at 851 E Grand Avenue, San Gabriel, has approximately 200 cats, dogs and rabbits available for adoption.

Check out photos of adoptable pets attached. You can also meet them in person Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Many can also be viewed on line by going to the website www.sgvhumane.org and clicking on "Available Pets."

There is a $99 adoption fee for cats and $120 - $130 for dogs which includes shots, spay/neuter and microchip.

The Humane Society encourages you to stop in for a visit. They offer a buddy system for those interested in adopting more than one pet, as well as a "seniors for seniors" program. You can also reach SGVHS by phone at (626-286-1159).

Think adoption first!

After 11 months at the shelter, Gunthette, the lovely brindle Pit Bull Terrier, was adopted this past Sunday. Jackie Chan, the handsome grey tabby with green eyes, and Agatha, the young Shepherd, have also been adopted. As of today (July 10), the remaining animals in this post are still available.

I love hearing that news, Jamie! Thank you so much for posting! I don't suppose you happen to know if the folks who adopted the animals saw them on Patch? :-) However they found their new pets, I'm super glad!

I agree 100%, any adoption is a great adoption! I don't think any of those adopters came in for a particular pet, but chose after seeing who was available. Gunthette the Pit has two small dog siblings now. They chose her after seeing how well the three dogs got along. There is a photo of her with her new family on the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society facebook page.

You can definitely follow specific news! If you only wanted to follow police and fire, for example,Read More click on the News tab on the home page. Then, down the left side of the page are multiple news categories. Click the one you want and then it'll ask you if you want to receive email updates about this topic. Once you do, it'll show you as "subscribed.'' If you follow "Top News'' you receive updates on all stories.

Personally I do not want to get updates on all stories under a given category. It is too bad that weRead More can no longer follow specific stories as we used to.... As it is I get too many e-mails.... I hope patch will consider to allow following of specific stories instead of all stories under a given category.
