Patch Blog: San Gabriel Humane to Host Art Walk

Save the date! The San Gabriel Valley Humane Society is hosting an Art Walk at 5 p.m. Saturday, August 18.

The San Gabriel Valley Humane Society, located at 851 E Grand Avenue, San Gabriel, will be hosting an ART WALK on Saturday, August 18, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. Two legged and four legged visitors are welcome to attend. All proceeds will benefit the shelter animals.

The shelter is planning a raffle, games, crafts, concession stands, merchandise, food trucks, and the highlight of the event, art for purchase that is being created by the adoptable dogs and cats at the humane society.

In the photos you can see Cheers Big Ears with the piece she just finished painting. Cheers came to the shelter with a broken leg, but she is all healed up and out of her cast now. Her art will be available on the 18th, but she is available for adoption right now!

Kool is also pictured with his masterpiece. Kool is an energetic, playful boy who likes other dogs. If you already have big dog at home who needs a playmate, Kool could be the perfect choice. Kool would also be happy to play with you!

Mickey also took his paws to canvas. Mickey is a three-year old brown Chihuahua boy who is very loving. This handsome boy came to the shelter in August of 2011 and because of his quiet, calm demeanor has been overlooked by potential adopters. Or perhaps he has just been waiting for you!

Many additional pieces of art are being created, some of which can be viewed now on the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/pages/San-Gabriel-Valley-Humane-Society/121027267937931.

Questions about the event or one of the animals at the shelter?  You can visit from Tuesday through Sunday, 10:00 am - 4:30 PM and can also reach SGVHS by phone at (626-286-1159). THINK ADOPTION FIRST!
