Recent rash of burglaries

Hi everyone! I live on the backside of Monterey Hills bordering El Sereno. There has been a serious up swing in burglaries and attempted thefts in our neighborhood over the past few weeks/months. I would like to know what our police department is doing to help keep our town more safe, even us who live very close to the LA border. My kids are scared as these people are entering homes in broad daylight - many times when residents are home!
