Update: Less Than 20 Customers Without Power

With power restoration taking longer than expected, Edison is again offering no timeline for restoration.

Update: At Wednesday's City Council meeting, Ronald Garcia, regional manager for Southern California Edison, said less than 20 South Pas customers were without power.

To ensure everyone is accounted for, he advised anyone without power to call: (800) 655.4555.

Update: Edison says approximately 30 customers in South Pasadena are still without power as of 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Dec. 6: Five hundred and eighty one residents in town are still without power Tuesday with Edison providing no timeline for restoration.

"We understand the frustration of those who have been without power for past few days," said Southern California Edison spokesperson Mashi Nyssen. "We are targeting the hardest hit areas, such as South Pasadena."

"The full restoration has taken longer than expected," she continued. "We are doing whatever it takes to get customers through this difficult time."

Edison has had hundreds of crews working around the clock since the storm hit Wednesday night. But the severe damage has caused many delays, says Nyssen.

"We need to claim the trees, and it's hard to get to some of these areas," she explained.

Edison suggests residents without power take advantage of distribution centers around San Gabriel Valley. Click here for more information on those locations.

The power company also stresses safety first. "Check on your neighbors to make sure they're safe and stay away from power lines. Assume every cable is dangerous and call 9-1-1."

Also, if you are a customer whose power was on but has recently gone out, call: (800) 655.4555.
