79-Year-Old Area Woman Found Safe Near Altadena

A 79-year-old Pasadena woman reported missing Saturday was found unharmed today.

Edie Pineda, described by police as suffering from dementia, was found near Altadena and New York drives about 9:30 a.m., Pasadena police Lt. Jason Clawson said.

"A passer-by, who had received the earlier (Nixle) alert believed they saw the missing person in the area of Altadena Drive and New York Drive," he said. "This information was reported to police and within minutes the missing was found unharmed."

Pineda walked away from her residence in the 100 block of South Allen Avenue about 6 p.m. Saturday, police said. It was unclear how she spent the night.
