Break-In on Prospect, Suspect Apprehended

A suspect fled the scene after nearby workers noticed him allegedly breaking in to an apartment on Prospect.

Update 9:45 a.m.: The suspect who allegedly tried to break-in to an apartment on 609 Prospect Avenue was apprehended by police around 9:45 a.m. Thursday.

Previously:  vehicles and helicopters have been circling the 700 block of Charter Oak Street since about 8 a.m. Thursday after a suspect attempted to break in to an apartment on Prospect Avenue.

The suspect allegedly fled the scene and ran into the backyard of a home on Charter Oak Street, according to reports.

"Work men chased the suspect and lost him in the back yards on Charter Oak," a reader wrote to Patch.
