Update: Bomb Threat Suspect Could Be Disgruntled Employee

Police found nothing suspicious after the store received a bomb threat Monday.

Update: Police are looking to former employees in the search for a bomb threat suspect who called into Pavilions Monday, Pasadena Sun reports.

"One of the employees said the caller was disgruntled," police Chief Joe Payne told Patch Monday, of the male suspect.

1:00 p.m. Monday:  shoppers and employees evacuated the supermarket Monday afternoon after an unknown suspect called the store, and said there was a bomb in the building.

The manager closed off the entrances and exits and cleared the store around 11:15 a.m., said Sgt. Robert Bartl.

South Pas Police and Fire departments arrived on the scene shortly after around 11:20 a.m, and sent a bombs and explosives sniffing dog into Pavilions.

The dog was in the building for about 40 minutes, but "there was nothing suspicious, and no other calls were made," said Sgt. Bartl.

The store—and surrounding area—was closed for about an hour, but was opened again for business around 12:20 p.m. Monday.

Bartl said this was one of two bombs threats at Pavilions over the last ten years. A similar call was made around 2002, he said.

Correction: This article originally stated the bomb threat occurred on Tuesday. Patch regrets the error.
