Photos: Turning Back Time on Mission Street

From antique bicycles and farming equipment to classic cars and a skeleton float, Sunday featured a little something for everyone in South Pasadena.

They came, they saw, they sweated.

Sunday's kinder, gentler temperature of 95 degrees rallied residents to leave their air conditioned comfort and meander Mission Street to scope out classic cars, clean energy cars, and the kind of cars in which one hopes never to be offered the back-seat: police vehicles.

There was some good stuff, there was the Cobra Coupe, which to a non-car people might have been admired, but not appreciated. That single car may have been worth as much as the entire car show. http://www.motorauthority.com/pictures/1033005_1965-shelby-daytona-coupe-sells-for-record-7-25-million_gallery-1#100200065

Lots of fun for our family. So many beautiful cars, we enjoyed the kid area and the vendors that came out. It looked like everyone was having fun even though it was so hot.

Could we please have the car show in cooler weather? I only lasted two blocks because of the heat. Love the show & have gone every year, but will not attend next year if it's this hot.

Just a guess here, but I imagine the planning probably takes months...is there some new way of forecasting the weather that far in advance that we're not aware of?
