Julia Roberts' Wedding Dress Allegedly Destroyed in South Pas Fire

The studio of famed Australian designer Richard Tyler at 525 Mission Street caught on fire Friday destroying everything inside. Initial investigations point to an electrical fire.

The Mission Street , who has created clothes for icons such as Oprah Winfey, Elton John and Diana Ross, caught on fire Friday—destroying everything inside.

"Everything was damaged [with] either fire or smoke damage," said Battalion Chief Philip Guiral. "We have to contact the owner to find out exactly what was inside and the value."

A wedding dress that was designed for Julia Roberts (but never made it to the altar, according to this article) was among items destroyed, said a relative who was on the scene Friday morning.

Initial investigations point to an electrical fire, added Guiral.

South Pasadena Fire Department responded to several calls of smoke in the area of 525 Mission Street around 9:30 a.m. Guiral said firefighters could see "big black header" from two blocks away.
