Driver Arrested After Passing out Behind the Wheel

The South Pasadena Police found the man asleep in the driver's seat, his car blocking traffic lanes, authorities said.

A Lake Balboa man awoke to flashlights and handcuffs recently when South Pasadena Police found him passed out in the driver's seat, according to the weekly crime bulletin.

The 32-year-old man had fallen asleep behind the wheel, with his car parked at Huntington Drive and Bushnell Avenue, the bulletin states. Police spotted the vehicle about 3 a.m. on Dec. 7. It was parked in the street and blocking a traffic lane. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

For a list of other crimes reported Dec. 5-11, including a stolen vehicle and auto burglaries, please see the attached PDF. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

You can definitely follow specific news! If you only wanted to follow police and fire, for example,Read More click on the News tab on the home page. Then, down the left side of the page are multiple news categories. Click the one you want and then it'll ask you if you want to receive email updates about this topic. Once you do, it'll show you as "subscribed.'' If you follow "Top News'' you receive updates on all stories.

Personally I do not want to get updates on all stories under a given category. It is too bad that weRead More can no longer follow specific stories as we used to.... As it is I get too many e-mails.... I hope patch will consider to allow following of specific stories instead of all stories under a given category.
