Event Highlight: Cruz’n for Roses (Photos)

Classic cars, police demonstrations and a preview of your Tournament of Roses Parade Float 2012.

The seventh annual South Pasadena Tournament of Roses Cruz’n for Roses Hot Rod and Classic Car Show will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday in conjunction with the and Open House.

Hundreds of the finest street rods, muscle cars and classic cars will be on display. DJs, cash and merchandise raffles, food, refreshments, exhibits and vendors will show their wares while the police and fire departments stage displays and demonstrations of life-saving technologies and the tools of the trade that keep our community safe.

[Editor's update: Major sponsors contribute additional monies and co-chair Ted Shaw estimates that more than $10,000 will be raised for the South Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association this weekend.]

Locals can also expect helicopter landings, armored cars, police dog demonstrations, emergency preparedness displays, and an FBI presentation on “Child Safety on the Internet" from the police and fire departments. Guided tours and tactical weapons demonstrations will also take place throughout the day.
