PHOTOS: July 4th in South Pas

A Fourth of July tradition delights hundreds at South Pasadena high school.

An annual fireworks display at Wednesday capped a day full of July 4th activities in town.

The SPPD put on a massive display of firepower as they first repelled down a sheriff helicopter hovering over the football field, then set off concussion grenades and captured "armed crooks" using a police dog and assault officers.

Afterwards, the captured suspects (actually police employees) were driven away in the department's armored assault vehicle.
