Police Blotter: Three Burglaries at Ralph’s

South Pasadena Police reported three burglaries at Ralph's on Garfield Avenue this week.

Commercial Burglary

At 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, at on Garfield Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a market employee saw a suspect exit the store without paying for groceries. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

At 1:55 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16, at Ralph’s on Garfield Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a market employee saw a suspect place liquor inside a bag and exit the store without paying for it. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

At 6:14 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16, at Ralph’s on Garfield Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a market employee saw a suspect open a bowl of soup inside the store and eat it. According to reports, the suspect also placed beer inside a shopping cart and exited the store without paying for it. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

At 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, at  on Fair Oaks Avenue,  reported that an unidentified suspect ran out of the store without paying for liquor. The suspect is described as a white 25- to 30-year-old male, approximately 5’10” and 160 pounds, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants and a red/blue baseball cap.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle

At 1:50 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13, on the 800 block of Brent Avenue, South Pasadena Police located a ’89 Toyota Camry that was stolen from LAPD Northeast Division.

Stolen Vehicle

Between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 17, on the 600 block of Prospect Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a ’98 Honda Civic was stolen.

Between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17, on the 500 block of Mission Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect tampered with the ignition of a ’01 Honda Accord but failed to start the vehicle. According to reports, the suspect removed coins from the vehicle.

Auto Burglary

Between 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13, on the 600 block of Prospect Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect activated the alarm on a ’04 Toyota Camry after attempting to pry open the vehicle’s window.

Residential Burglary

Between 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11 and 9:55 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13, on the 1100 block of Magnolia Street, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect entered a residence and removed cash and an Xbox.

Between 7:51 p.m. and 8:38 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13, on the 1100 block of Arroyo Verde, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered a vehicle carport area and removed two bicycles.

Between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17, on the 800 block of Meridian Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect entered a residence through an unlocked rear door and removed cash.

At 2:11 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17, on the 2000 block of Meridian Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a victim returned home and heard a loud noise from the rear of a residence. According to reports, the victim saw a suspect standing on the rear porch. The victim yelled at the suspect and the suspect ran away. The suspect is described as a 20- to 25-year-old Hispanic male, approximately 5’10” wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

Theft

Between 11:40 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at South Pasadena High School on Fremont Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect removed a wallet from a victim’s unattended duffel bag.

Between 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15 and 7 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16, on the 1900 block of Meridian Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered a victim’s yard and removed three unsecured bicycles.

Between 10 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16 and 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 17, on the 1700 block of Gillette Crescent, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered a victim’s unlocked vehicle and removed a portable GPS, wallet, watch and cologne.

D.U.I.

At 2:58 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, at the intersection of Monterey Road and Pasadena Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect involved in a traffic collision drove away without stopping. According to reports, officers located the vehicle and found to the driver to be under the influence of alcohol. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

At 7:52 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, at the intersection of Pasadena and Sycamore Avenues, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect stopped for a traffic violation was driving under the influence of alcohol. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

False Information to a Police Officer

At 2:38 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at the intersection of El Centro Street and Adelaine Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect gave a false name to an officer. According to reports, the officers discovered the suspect’s true name and found he had several outstanding warrants. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

Disturbing the Peace

At 2:57 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at the 200 block of Monterey Road, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect that was disturbing a neighbor’s peace.

False Registration

At 11:12 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16, on the 700 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect with false registration tabs on a vehicle.

Vandalism

At 1:05 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, on the 2000 block of Via Del Rey, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect through a rock at a victim’s living room window. According to reports, the victim was awaken by the noise and contacted police.
