Man Arrested For Indecent Exposure, Parole Violation

A tip from a passing female motorist led South Pasadena Police to arrest 47-year-old parolee Edward Frank Valdivia on Thursday afternoon. 

According to a release from the police department, a woman driving past an apartment complex on the 700 block of Fremont Avenue noticed a completely naked man masturbating while sitting on the complex's steps. The woman reported this to police and also identified Valdivia, who was later arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure and parole violation.

Valdivia, a registered sex offender, was on parole for a drug offense. The release also noted he was registered on the Megan's Law website for "assault with intent to commit a specified sex offense."

Valdivia was booked, then taken to Pasadena Jail where he will be held without bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Alhambra Superior Court on Friday.
