Police Alert: Man Exposes Himself to 3 Young Girls

The girls told South Pasadena Police they walked by a car and saw the man inside pleasuring himself.

Three girls under the age of 13 told authorities they saw a man masturbating inside a vehicle parked at Monterey Road and Indiana Avenue, according to a South Pasadena Police report.

The girls, all aged 11 or 12, walked through the intersection at 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 7 when they saw a man sitting inside a parked car, the report states. As they passed his vehicle, they saw that he was exposing and pleasuring himself, so they walked away quickly.

Two of the three girls gave very different descriptions of the suspect's vehicle, Officer Richard Lee said, noting the girls are young, but he did not believe the vehicle descriptions' disparity indicated that the girls had fabricated the report.

"I know at that young age, cars look alike,'' he said, adding that one girl described the car to be a "possibly'' gold, four-door sedan, while another thought it was a white pick-up truck with an emblem of "TRO'' on it. The suspect's hairline was also unclear: he might've been blonde, or he might've been bald.

Despite the discrepancies, police do not believe the girls made up the encounter.

"Usually if a bunch of people see an incident, everyone focuses on a certain thing, so there is always a slight discrepancy,'' Lee wrote in an email to Patch.

Indiana Avenue is the first street people use to come into the neighborhoods of SP. It's down the street from an elementary school. It is not unusual for random people to park their cars on the street and just sit there.

Indiana tees into Via Del Rey at one end and Mission St. at the other. Are you referring to Meridian?

Hi Hugh. If you take a peek at the map that is displayed to the right of the story, it pinpoints the location for you.
