Pedestrian in Fatal Accident Identified

The man had been walking north in the crosswalk when he was struck by a van traveling east on Pasadena Avenue

A 72-year-old man who died Sunday after being struck by a car on Pasadena Avenue was identified as James Wills, of Los Angeles, Pasadena-Star News reports.

Wills will be remembered as a "very sweet and simple man,"

"We will miss him terribly and he should not died this way," she continued.

Locals have set up a small memorial at the corner of Pasadena Avenue and Arroyo Drive, where the fatal accident occurred.

The vehicle that hit Wills was driven by a 77-year-old Highland Park man, and police anticipate filing vehicular manslaughter charges against the driver.
