A man who was killed when he jumped in front of a Red Line train at a downtown Los Angeles Metro station was identified by a coroner's lieutenant Saturday as 24-year-old Joseph Pablico of South Pasadena, authorities said.

He jumped in front of an arriving train at the Civic Center Station about 1:35 p.m. Thursday and was declared dead at the scene, said Metro spokesman Paul Gonzales.

He was struck on the eastbound track, said Ramon Montenegro of the sheriff's Transit Services Bureau.
