Man Sentenced for Stealing from Dead South Pas Resident

Initially charged with grand theft auto, grand theft animal and petty theft, Johnson pleaded "no contest" Thursday in Alhambra Superior Court to a single count of auto theft.

Benjamin Erik Johnson, 20, received a 270-day jail sentence Thursday after allegedly stealing items from a dead South Pasadena resident he met on Craigslist in May, according to San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

Charged with grand theft auto, grand theft animal and petty theft, Johnson is not suspected to be involved with the death of Miguel Santamaria, 51.
