Find Registered Sex Offenders in Your Area

LASD encourages residents to protect themselves and their families through Megan's Law.

LASD released a reminder Wednesday sharing links that direct the community to a list of sex offenders in Los Angeles County.

"One of the major reasons why it is important to be informed about sexual assault is so that you can take steps to prevent it," the release states.

"And, there are indeed steps you can take to reduce your risk of sexual assault, your child's risk, or the risk facing others."

A list of registered sex offenders in California is available through Megan's Law on the California Department of Justice's site HERE.

I don't go to website anymore to look for the list of sex offenders in a certain area. My kids and I have this kind of phone application that will enable us to view threat level and sex offenders in our area. It made us feel safe because when we encounter an emergency, we will just simply press the Panic button installed on the phone to ask for help from our loved ones. If the situation needs worse, the call can be escalated to the nearest 911 in our area. You can check their site to find out more about their interesting features http://Safekidzone.com
