Multi Vehicle Pileup on 215 Snarls Traffic in Murrieta

Eight vehicles crashed in a domino effect Saturday, all of them in the far left lane, blocking traffic immediately on the southbound 215, the CHP reported.

An eight-vehicle pile-up on the southbound Esondido (215) Freeway Saturday blocked the farthest left lane, slowing traffic to a crawl, Patch learned at the scene.

There were some patients taken by ambulances to hospitals but no immediate word on extent of injuries.

The crash, north of Los Alamos Road, was reported at 1:31 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Motorists immediately began driving the wrong way back down the entrance ramp and Murrieta police had to be called out to monitor traffic at Clinton Keith Road, the CHP reported.

And here is one chiming in now. As you can tell by John's additude and name calling he would fit the bill. "I'm not moving over I'm staying right here". YOU are a major reason for accidents. Refresh yourself on the rules of the road. Now down to your WT level for a bit, you self centered jerk.

Between those texting, makeup, talking on speaking phones, and just driving wrecklessly in our stretch of freeway we have a minimum of 1 or 2 serious wrecks a week, well that are reported. Who knows how many are not reported right? Cutting from lane 3 onto the lane 1 to get off at Los Alamos, or Winchester!! Yep same ole story, same ole...............

I guess I'll have to reread that section in the rule book were it says it is OK to drive 80 in a construction zone that's marked 55! Sorry!!
