Parolee Charged for 'Hot Prowl' Burglary

Martinez, who was on parole for criminal threats and burglary, was found hiding in his attic when officers searched his home, according to City News Service.

A parolee allegedly linked to a "hot prowl'' residential burglary in South Pasadena last month was arrested Wednesday at his Los Angeles home, reports City News Service (CNS).

Anthony Ace Martinez, 24, is tied to a July 18 crime in the 800 block of Kendall Avenue, in which his fingerprints were found on the window screen removed in a bid to gain entry to the residence, South Pas Sgt. Jim Valencia told CNS.

The residents of the home were awakened at about 2:30 a.m. by noises coming from the rear of their home, reports indicate. One of the residents saw two males trying to get into the house through the back door that leads into the kitchen; the resident then yelled and scared the suspects away.

The suspects allegedly tried to pry open the door and removed the screen to a bedroom window as well, Valencia said.
