Police Arrest Man Driving Stolen Car Following a Pursuit

Crime blotter: Arrests do not indicate convictions.

A North Hollywood man driving a stolen car failed to yield to South Pasadena Police and led officers on a chase, before crashing the vehicle, authorities said.

Police attempted to stop the 21-year-old for a traffic violation just after 4:30 a.m. at Monterey Road and Oak Knoll Avenue on July 9, but the man failed to yield, said Officer Richard Lee. Police gave chase, and during the vehicle pursuit, the suspect slammed the car into a tree. After running the vehicle's registration, officers found the car to have been stolen from North Hollywood.

The driver's 21-year-old passenger was not arrested. The driver, however, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle and evading police.
