Police Beef Up Patrol On Monterey After Sexual Assault

The victim's father interrupted the attack when he arrived home in the 600 block of Monterey Road shortly before 3 a.m. Wednesday, according ABC7.

Information already collected during the investigation suggests the suspect may have either resided in or frequented the area of the 600 block of Monterey Road, according to a press release Sunday. The department says it will continue to patrol Monterey heavily as long as needed.

The police department is also currently soliciting, processing and following-up on leads generated from the initial preliminary investigation along with those received from the public. It is still awaiting physical evidence collected from the crime scene to be processed and analyzed by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Crime Lab for DNA.

But keep in mind, police say, that the suspect may attempt to alter his or her appearance, especially if he or she knows they’re being sought, and may not currently appear as depicted in the original rendering.
