Police Blotter: Assault, Sexual Battery and Residential Burglary

South Pasadena Police recently reported three isolated burglary incidents at Pavilions on Fair Oaks Avenue.

Stolen Vehicle

Between 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 19 and 6:45 a.m. on Friday, May 20, on the 1700 block of Grevelia Street, reported that a ’94 Honda Accord was stolen. Police recovered the vehicle on Friday, May 20.

Between 6:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, on the 1100 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect tampered with the ignition on a victim’s ’92 Honda Accord. The suspect is described as a 25- to 30-year-old Hispanic male approximately 5'7" to 5'10" and 190 to 210 pounds wearing a T-shirt and dark shorts.

Auto Burglary

Between 3:10 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, on the 1700 block of State Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect smashed the window of a ’97 Honda Odyssey.

Between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 23, on the 1700 block of Ellincourt Drive, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect pried open the window of an ’02 Subaru WRX and removed a portable GPS.

Residential Burglary

At 11:49 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, on the 1500 block of Camino Lindo, South Pasadena Police reported that three suspects knocked on a victim’s door. According to police reports, the victim did not recognize the three suspects and did not answer the door. The third suspect jumped over the victim’s side yard and removed a rear window, police said. According to police reports, the suspect drove away after hearing the victim call the police. The first suspect is described as Hispanic female. The second suspect is described a 20- to 35-year-old Hispanic male wearing a dark shirt and baseball cap. The third suspect is described as a 20- to 30-year-old Hispanic male approximately 6' and 180 pounds wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a late model blue van.

Between 3:24 p.m. and 3:54 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, on the 1200 block of Via Del Rey, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered a residence through an unlocked rear sliding door and removed a laptop computer.

Between 8:55 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24, on the 200 block of St. Albans Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect pried open the front door of a residence and removed computers.

Commercial Burglary

At 11:16 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, at on Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that two suspects exited the store without paying for liquor. The first suspect is described as 25- to 30-year-old black male approximately 6'2" and 210 pounds wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and baggy jeans. The second suspect is described as a 25- to 30-year-old black male approximately 6'2" and 190 pounds wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and jeans.

At 3:59 p.m. on Monday, May 23, at Pavilions on Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a store employee saw two suspects enter the store and hide food and cosmetics inside a backpack. According to police reports, the suspect exited the store without paying and were detained by store employees. South Pasadena Police arrested the two suspects.

At 6 p.m. on Monday, May 23, at Pavilions on Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a store employee saw a suspect enter the store and place food inside a shopping cart. According to police reports, the suspect attempted to cover  food with a bag and exited the store without paying. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

Robbery

At 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, on the 1700 block of State Street, police reported that a victim walked into a carport and saw a suspect standing near a black Honda that was parked near the victim’s vehicle. As the victim approached his own vehicle, the suspect pulled out a screwdriver and demanded cash. The victim ran away and later came back to find the Honda missing. When officers arrived, they also found one vehicle burglarized. The suspect is described as a 30-year-old Hispanic male with dark buzzed hair wearing a yellow T-shirt and black shorts.

Theft

Between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 6, at on Oak Street, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect accessed a victim’s locker and removed an iPod.

Assault

At 12 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, at on Mission Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an employee allegedly pushed a patient against a wall.

Sexual Battery

At 7:58 a.m. on Friday, May 20, at the intersection of Fairview Avenue and Mission Street, South Pasadena Police reported that a victim was walking down the street when a suspect rode by on a bicycle and grabbed the victim’s buttocks. The suspect is described as a 20-year-old white male with light brown hair, brown eyes and a goatee. He is said to be approximately 5'8" and 180 pounds wearing a white coat and black pants.

D.U.I.

At 10:17 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, at the intersection of Fair Oaks Avenue and Mound Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect involved in a traffic collision was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

At 3:40 p.m. on Friday, May 20, at the intersection of El Centro Street and Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect found driving under the influence of alcohol had two infants in her vehicle with no child seats. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

Drunk in Public

At 5:54 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, on the 800 block of Fremont Avenue, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect found lying on the sidewalk intoxicated and unable to care for himself.

Possession of Marijuana

At 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, on the 1000 block of Foothill Avenue, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect found to be in possession of marijuana.

At 8:27 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, on the 200 block of Grand Avenue, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect found to be in possession of marijuana.

Possession of Burglary Tools

At 9 a.m. on Friday, May 20, on the 1700 block of Marengo Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that two suspects were stopped for a traffic violation and found to be in possession of burglary tools. South Pasadena Police arrested the two suspects.

Trespassing

At 7:12 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, on the 2000 block of Fremont Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that the suspect of a related victim showed up at the victim’s residence. The suspect, who is not allowed there, was told to leave. According to police reports, the suspect complied but returned later. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.
