Police Blotter: Car Stolen on State Street

South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect was caught masturbating inside his vehicle in front of a female victim.

Stolen Vehicle

Between 12 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, on the 1800 block of State Street, South Pasadena Police reported that a ’90 Mazda RX 7 was stolen.

Indecent Exposure

At 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22, on the 1500 block of Diamond Avenue, reported that a female victim saw a suspect masturbating inside his parked vehicle as she was walking down the street. According to reports, the suspect drove away. The suspect is described as a heavy-set Hispanic male with short hair and dark skin. The suspect’s vehicle is described as white four-door, older Honda model.

Residential Burglary

Between 11:48 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27, on the 1500 block of Huntington Drive, South Pasadena Police reported that a witness saw a suspect attempt to open a victim’s partially opened garage door. According to police reports, the suspect left the scene after making eye contact with the witness. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

Commercial Burglary

Between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, on the 100 block of Pasadena Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect opened a business through an unlocked door and removed wire.

Between 5:30 and 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 26, on the 100 block of Pasadena Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect removed the door of a storefront by extracting an exterior door pin. According to reports, the suspect took wire from the business.

Theft

Between Thursday, Sept. 8 and Saturday, Sept. 17, on the 1400 block of Oak Crest Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a victim discovered a ring was missing from her bathroom while her house was being remodeled.

Between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, at on Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a victim left the market after paying for groceries. According to reports, the victim discovered that his wallet was missing and an unidentified suspect used his credit card to make several unauthorized purchases.

At 4:13 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the intersection of Via Del Rey and Monterey Road, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect approached a victim and asked to borrow the victim’s cell phone. According to reports, the suspect appeared to make a call then drove away with the victim’s phone. The suspect is described as a 20 to 30-year-old Hispanic male, approximately 5’10” and 160 pounds with brown hair, wearing a black sleeveless athletic jersey and baggy blue jeans. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a beige colored 4-door vehicle.

Between 8:17 and 9 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25, on the 1100 block of Oxley Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect pried open a cable box and removed a battery.

Prowling

Between 10 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22 and 7:45 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, on the 1000 block of Adelaine Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect poured ketchup on a victim’s vehicle. The victim reviewed security camera footage and identified the suspect, police said. South Pasadena Police contacted the suspect who admitted to the crime.

D.U.I.

At 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at the intersection of Huntington Drive and Camden Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a witness saw a suspect drive recklessly and contacted the police. According to reports, South Pasadena Police contacted the suspect who was driving under the influence of alcohol. Police arrested the suspect.

Daytime Loitering by a Minor

At 12:07 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 26, at the intersection of Raymond Lane and Mission Street, South Pasadena Police contacted a suspect who did not have an off-campus permit. According to reports, the suspect possessed tobacco paraphernalia. Police arrested the suspect.

False Information

At 11:36 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, at the intersection of Mission Street and Pasadena Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect gave a false name to an officer after being stopped for a traffic violation. The officer discovered the suspect’s true identity and found the suspect was driving without a license, police said. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

At 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, on the 100 block of Marmion Way, South Pasadena Police discovered a warrant had been issued for the owner of a parked vehicle. According to reports, officers contacted a suspect inside the vehicle who provided them with a false name. Police discovered the suspect’s identity and found he had been issued a warrant. Police arrested the suspect.

Forgery

At 11:27 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27, on the 1100 block of Huntington Drive, South Pasadena reported that a suspect stopped for a traffic violation was an unlicensed driver. According to reports, the suspect possessed a counterfeit driver’s license. Police arrested the suspect.

Identity Theft and Fraud

Between Wednesday, Sept. 7 and Thursday, Sept. 22, on the 1600 block of Santa Teresa Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect stole a victim’s new credit card and checkbook from a mailbox. According to reports, the suspect made several unauthorized purchases and wrote unauthorized checks.

Between 12 p.m. and 6:23 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at on Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a victim’s purse was stolen from inside her shopping cart. According to reports, the victim discovered that an unidentified suspect made several cash advances and unauthorized purchases on her credit card.

At 4:35 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27, on the 1100 block of Huntington Drive, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect accessed a victim’s hotel reward program information and redeemed the victim’s reward points without approval.
