Police Blotter: Commercial Burglary, Assault and Theft

South Pasadena Police reported five commercial burglary incidents during the week of Wednesday, March 16 through Tuesday, March 22.

Between 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15 and 7 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, at the baseball field on Diamond Avenue, reported that an unidentified suspect removed a banner from the dugout area.

Between 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15 and 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, on the 1700 block of Grevelia Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect pried open the window of an ’04 Saturn Ion and unlocked the vehicle. According to police reports, the suspect removed mail and vehicle registration from the car.

At 12:50 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, at the intersection of Fair Oaks Avenue and Grevelia Street, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect did not yield to an officer after making a traffic violation. According to police reports, the suspect was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

Between 9:49 a.m. and 1:53 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, at the 1000 block of Sycamore Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect removed a bicycle that was locked onto a railing.

At 1:08 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, at the intersection of Fremont Avenue and Columbia Road, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect with false registration tabs on a vehicle.

Between 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16 and 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, at on Fremont Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect removed coils of electrical wire left unattended on a victim’s front lawn.

At 3:20 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, at the intersection of Fremont Avenue and Maple Street, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect with false registration tabs on a vehicle.

At 5:40 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, at on Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect exited the store without paying for items. The suspect is described as a 40 to 50 year old black male wearing a green sweatshirt and jeans. The suspect’s vehicle is describes as a whit Ford pick-up truck.

At 6:36 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, on the 1600 block of Amberwood Drive, South Pasadena Police reported that two suspects were arguing in the street. According to police reports, one suspect was found to have two outstanding warrants and the other suspect was intoxicated and unable to care for herself. South Pasadena Police arrested both suspects.

At 1:48 a.m. on Friday, March 18, at on Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that 10 to 15 suspects were involved in a fight. According to police reports, one suspect was hospitalized for injuries.

Between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday, March 18, on the 1700 block of Hanscom Drive, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect sprayed paint on a victim’s rear wall.

At 7:15 p.m. on Friday, March 18, at on Huntington Drive, South Pasadena police reported that a suspect exited the store without paying for a radio. The suspect is described as a 35 to 40 year old white male who is approximately 5’7.

At 9:09 p.m. on Friday, March 18, at the intersection of Monterey Road and Orange Grove Avenue, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect involved in a traffic accident who was driving under the influence of alcohol.

At 12:58 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, at the intersection of Fair Oaks Avenue and Bank Street, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect gave a false identity to an officer. According to police reports, the officer confirmed the suspect’s identity and discovered the suspect didn’t possess a driver’s license. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

At 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, on the 1500 block of Oneonta Knoll Street, South Pasadena Police reported that a victim threw up in a taxi during the drive from Hollywood back home. According to police reports, the taxi driver drove away with the victim’s cell phone and credit card when the victim exited the vehicle. The suspect is described as black male.

At 3:25 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, on the 1700 block of Grevelia Street, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect that was found walking in the street intoxicated and unable to care for herself.

Between 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 19 and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 20, at the 700 block of Brent Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect smashed the window of an ’02 Toyota 4-Runner and removed a laptop computer.

At 7:05 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, at on Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that two suspects entered the pet store and removed a dog from an unsecured cage. According to police reports, a store employee chased after the two suspects and saw them enter a waiting vehicle and drive away. On Sunday, March 20, one of the suspects came back to Pet’s Delight to return the dog with a third suspect, who drove the waiting vehicle, police said. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspects on Sunday and found a firearm inside the vehicle. The remaining suspect is described as 25-30 year old Hispanic male, approximately 6’02 wearing a brown shirt.

At 9:57 a.m. on Sunday, March 20, at on Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect exited the store without paying for groceries. The suspect is described as a 30-year-old white female approximately 5’5, 180 pounds with curly brown hair wearing a gray sweatshirt and black sweatpants.  

At 2:11 p.m. on Monday, March 21, at on Garfield Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an employee saw a suspect hide groceries inside of a purse and exit the store without paying for items. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

At 4 p.m. on Monday, March 21, on the 500 block of Arroyo Drive, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect pried open the front door of a residence and activated an alarm.

At 4:05 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, on the 1100 block of Fairview Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a witness saw a suspect walk from a victim’s house holding handbags and bags. According to police reports, the witness chased the suspect who dropped the bags on the sidewalk. South Pasadena Police located and arrested the suspect.

At 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, at the intersection of Via Del Rey and Flores de Oro, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect that was found to be intoxicated and unable to care for himself.
