Police Blotter: D.U.I, Commercial Burglary and Stolen Vehicle

One vehicle was reported stolen in South Pasadena this week.

Stolen Vehicle

At 10:40 a.m. on Monday, May 16, on the 100 block of Monterey Road, South Pasadena Police reported a ’92 Nissan 240SX was stolen.

Between 8:40 a.m. and 12:50 p.m. on Monday, May 16, on the 1500 block of Oak Meadow Lane, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered a residence by prying open a rear door and removed a laptop computer, jewelry, safe and iPods. For more on residential burglaries, click . 

Commercial Burglary

At 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, at on Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect exited the store without paying for liquor. According to police reports, the suspect entered a waiting vehicle driven by a second suspect. The first suspect is described as a 35 to 40-year-old African American male approximately 6'3" and 150 pounds wearing a brown cap, blue long sleeve shirt and blue jeans. The second suspect is described a Hispanic male. The vehicle is described as a red Mazda pick-up.

Theft

At 6 p.m. on Friday, May 14, on the 900 block of Summit Drive, South Pasadena Police reported that a victim received a phone call from a suspect claiming to be an Apple representative. According to police reports, the suspect told the victim, who previously had one laptop stolen during a residential burglary in Los Angeles, that he was in possession of the victim’s stolen laptop. The victim agreed to meet the suspect and sync the data on his new laptop with his old laptop, police said. During the meet-up, the suspect asked the victim to check the Wi-Fi signal. While looking away, the suspect took both apple laptop computers, cell phone and external hard drive from the victim. The suspect is described as a 20-year-old Hispanic male approximately 5' with brown hair, wearing a black shirt and dark pants. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a white compact car with paper plates.

Possession of Burglary Tools

At 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, on the 700 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect found to be in possession of burglary tools.

D.U.I.

At 3:54 a.m. on Friday, May 13, on the 2000 block of Huntington Drive, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect found driving under the influence of alcohol.

At 2:14 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, at the intersection of Orange Grove Avenue and the 110 Freeway, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect found driving under the influence of alcohol.

At 3:08 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, on the 700 block of Mission Street, South Pasadena Police investigated a suspicious parked vehicle. According to police reports, the suspect inside the vehicle had a suspended driver’s license and was under the influence of alcohol. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

At 4 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, on the 1700 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect was found sleeping in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle. According to police reports, the suspect admitted to driving under the influence of alcohol and did not have a driver’s license on hand. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

Drunk in Public

At 6:13 p.m. on Friday, May 13, on the 1000 block of El Centro Street, South Pasadena Police reported that a male suspect was harassing female pedestrians. According to police reports, the suspect was found to be intoxicated and unable to care for himself. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

At 1:54 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, on the 900 block of Mission Street, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect found intoxicated and unable to care for himself. 

At 4:34 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, on the 2000 block of Berkshire Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an intoxicated suspect obstructed an officer. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

*The article originally reported that the theft suspect who allegedly stole a laptop on May 14 was 500 pounds. He was not. He was 5' tall.
