Police Blotter: 5 Residential Burglaries

Electronics including laptops and an iPod were reported stolen from South Pas homes this month.

Residential Burglary

Between 12:45 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, on the 400 block of Orange Grove Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect pried open the side door of a residence and removed an iPad and laptop computer.

At 6:15 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, on the 300 block of Pasadena Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect pried open several laundry room coin boxes and removed the coins. According to reports, a witness saw the suspect leave the apartment laundry room but was unable to contact police because of the blackout. .

Between 7 a.m. and 5:28 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, on the 500 block of Orange Grove Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect kicked open the rear door of a residence.

Between 8:50 a.m. and 12:50 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, on the 1900 block of Oxley Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect pried open the rear door of a residence and removed an iPod. 

Between 5:45 a.m. and 3:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6, on the 1900 block of Mill Road, South Pasadena Police reported that a an unidentified suspect entered a residence through an opened window and removed an e-book reader and laptop computer. 

Stolen Vehicle

Between 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4 and 7:40 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 5, on the 1700 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported a '82 Datsun Sentra was missing.

At 4:34 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, on the 300 block of Pasadena Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a victim saw three suspects loading a motorcycle onto the rear cargo area of a van. According to reports, the victim jumped onto the rear of the van and attempted to recover the motorcycle. The suspects drove away as the victim held on to the rear, police said. The victim allegedly heard the suspects say, "shoot him, shoot him," and jumped off of the van. The motorcycle was equipped with LoJack and recovered in Los Angeles. The three suspects are described as Hispanic males wearing hooded sweatshirts. The suspects' vehicle is described as a white cargo van.

Auto Burglary

Between 12:45 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, on the 90 block of Monterey Road, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect pried open the cargo bed shell of a '99 Dodge Ramcharger and removed tools.

Between 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4 and 11:27 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6, on the 600 block of Meridian Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect pried open the door of a '07 GMC SLT and removed an in-dash GPS system.

Commercial Burglary

At 3:56 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27, at on Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect exited the store without paying for the boots he was wearing. 

At 3:52 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, at on Garfield Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect exited the store without paying for liquor. The suspect is described as a white male wearing a red hooded sweatshirt carrying a bag. 

Between 7:15 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, on the 1100 block of Fremont Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered an office and removed an iPod and laptop computer. 

Robbery

At 9:37 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4, at on Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect approached a victim at the ATM and demanded monday. According to reports, the victim saw that the suspect didn't have a weapon and refused to give the money. The suspect is described as a 20- to 30-year-old white or Hispanic male, approximately 6 feet 2 inches with a thin build, wearing a black beanie, sunglasses, bandana, gray sweater and dark pants. 

Assault

At 4:40 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, on the 1800 block of Spruce Street, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect accelerated a vehicle and narrowly missed a victim crossing the street. 

Rape

On Sunday, Oct. 2, on the 300 block of Monterey Road, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect hit a victim and had non-consensual sex with the victim on two occasions. The suspect and victim are co-workers, according to reports. 

Possession of Marijuana

At 3:11 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at the intersection of Columbia Street and Orange Grove Boulevard, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect stopped for a traffic violation possessed marijuana. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

Lewd Acts with a Child

Between 7:50 p.m. and 8:50 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, at , South Pasadena Police reported that a 12-year-old female victim and suspect drank alcoholic beverages at the park. According to reports, the victim was intoxicated, and the suspect touched her around her private area.

Theft

Between 10:11 a.m. and 10:57 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, on the 2000 block of Oak Street, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect stole a laptop computer and purse left in front of a gate.

Drunk in Public

At 5:53 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, on the 700 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect was hitting parked vehicles with a bottle. Police arrested the suspect, who was intoxicated and unable to care for himself.
