Police Blotter: Robbery, False Registration and Auto Burglary

A South Pasadena resident was arrested during the week of Wednesday, Feb. 23 through Tuesday, March 1 for allegedly serving alcohol to minors.

David Lyman, a 66-year-old South Pasadena resident, was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 24 for allegedly serving beer, wine and tequila to minors in his home, according to South Pasadena Police Detective Sgt. Jim Valencia. For more on this story, click .

Los Angeles Sherriff Deputies took two South Pasadena residents into custody on Friday, Feb. 25 after allegedly robbing $500 from a Lawndale man who answered their Craigslist ad to purchase an iPhone. For more on this story, click .

At 4:55 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23, at the intersection of Atlantic Boulevard and Alhambra Road, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect ran away from officers after he was stopped for a traffic violation. According to police reports, the suspect possessed narcotic paraphernalia.

At 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23, at the 1000 block of Mission Street, South Pasadena Police reported that a witness saw a suspect hand a box cutter to a second suspect and the suspect removed a bicycle from a light pole. According to police reports, the witness informed a victim of the alleged crime and the victim attempted to retrieve the bicycle from the second suspect. The second suspect told the victim he had a gun and ran away, police said. South Pasadena Police arrested the first suspect. South Pasadena Police describe suspect two as a male, Hispanic, between 16 and 17 years old. 5’10, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a black undershirt.

Between 7:30 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24, at the 300 block of Pasadena Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect smashed the window of an ’07 Honda Accord and removed a portable GPS device.

At 1:29 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, at the intersection of Garfield Avenue and Pine Street, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect with false registration tabs on vehicle.

At 7:13 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27, at the 1400 block of Mission Street, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect with false registrations tabs on vehicle.

Between 5:15 p.m. and 6:18 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 28, at the intersection of Rollin Street and Marengo Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect smashed the window of an ’09 Volvo and removed a tote bag. According to police reports, the suspect used the victim’s credit card information to make several unauthorized purchases.
