Police Blotter: Robbery on Fair Oaks Avenue

South Pasadena Police report that an unidentified suspect stole a woman's purse at a Fair Oaks parking lot.

Robbery

At 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, at a parking lot on the 400 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect approached a victim and grabbed a purse. The suspect is described as an individual who is 5’10” wearing a black hooded jacket and blue jeans.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle

At 1:26 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1 on the 800 block of Valley View Road, South Pasadena Police reported that a vehicle parked on the street was stolen from LAPD Northeast Division.

Stolen Vehicle

Between 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25 and 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26, on the 1200 block of Huntington Drive, South Pasadena Police reported that a ’04 Toyota Corolla was stolen. LAPD Hollenbeck Division recovered the vehicle on Monday, Oct. 31.

Between 11:20 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, on the 1800 block of Hardison Place, South Pasadena Police reported that a ’99 Acura Integra was stolen.

Residential Burglary

At 12:55 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, on the 1100 block of Windsor Place, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect pried open the rear door of a residence and activated an alarm. According to reports, the suspect tampered with the alarm box and fled the residence.

Between 2:18 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30, on the 1900 block of Alhambra Road, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered a residence through an unlocked rear door.

Between 8:45 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, on the 700 block of Montrose Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect pried open the window of a residence and removed a laptop computer and checks.

Possession of Paraphernalia

At 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the intersection of Arroyo Drive and Mission Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an officer contacted a suspect because he smelled like marijuana. According to reports, the suspect admitted to possessing marijuana paraphernalia. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

Possession of Prohibited Weapon

At 5:06 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, on the 400 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that officers assisted FBI Agents in an investigation. According to reports, the suspect’s vehicle was searched for possible explosives but none were found. Police found an improvised mortar device in the suspect’s home, police said. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

Theft

Between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, on the 1000 block of El Centro Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered a victim’s unlocked vehicle and removed a backpack.

At 2:23 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30, at the intersection of Oak Street and Fremont Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a victim left a purse on a nearby block wall while talking on the phone. According to reports, a suspect ran past the victim and took the purse. The victim yelled and chased after the suspect who entered a vehicle driven by a second suspect. The first suspect is described as 28- to 33-year-old Hispanic male, approximately 5’4” and skinny wearing a backwards black hat, blue plaid shorts and a short sleeve black t-shirt. The second suspect is described as a heavyset Hispanic male. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a black 4-door Cadillac.

Between 9 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30 and 8 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, on the 2000 block of Fletcher Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered a victim’s unlocked vehicle and removed prescription glasses.

Between 3:07 p.m. and 3:51 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, on the 400 block of Garfield Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered a carport area and removed an unsecured bicycle.

Between 6:40 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31 and 9:35 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, on the 1700 block of State Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect removed a wallet from a victim’s unlocked vehicle.

False Information

At 1:24 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, on the 1700 block of Hope Street, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect gave a false name to officers. According to reports, the officers discovered the suspect is a juvenile on probation. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

D.U.I.

At 2:35 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30, at the intersection of Fair Oaks Avenue and Grevelia Street, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect involved in a traffic collision was driving under the influence of alcohol. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

Drunk in Public

At 3:36 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, on the 1900 block of Primrose Avenue, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect found intoxicated and unable to care for herself.

Receiving Stolen Property

At 2:37 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, on the 1400 block of Fremont Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect entered South Pasadena High School library and was asked to leave by a school official. According to reports, police located the suspect who was in possession of marijuana paraphernalia and books from the school library. The suspect also possessed stolen property from a vehicle in Los Angeles, police said. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

Vandalism

Between 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30 and 9 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31, on the 1700 block of Hope Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect smashed the window to a victim’s vehicle.
