Police Blotter: Shoplifting, Graffiti and More

The South Pasadena Police Department reported the following crimes from June 29 to July 5.

The following arrest information was supplied by the . It does not indicate a conviction. 

Recovered Stolen Vehicle

At 2:45 a.m. on Friday, July 1, at the intersection of Camino Lindo and La Bellorita Street, recovered an unreported stolen '00 Ford Mustang from Torrance. The driver and the passenger, who were stopped for a traffic violation, were found to have outstanding warrants.

Stolen Vehicle

Between 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 3 and 5:45 a.m. on Monday, July 4, on the 2000 block of Cambridge Place, South Pasadena Police reported that a '98 Honda Civic was stolen.

Auto Burglary

Between 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28 and 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, on the 1100 block of Mission Street, South Pasadena Police reported an unidentified suspect(s) smashed the windows open of a '01 BMW 330i and removed the stereo. The unidentified suspect(s) also pried open the door of a '68 Chevy pick up and removed the stereo and speakers. 

Residential Burglary

At 10:12 a.m. on Friday, July 1, on the 1300 block of Oak Hill Avenue, four suspects were arrested after South Pasadena Police reported suspicious activity outside the victim's home and found a box of woman's jewelry inside one of the suspect's vehicles. 

Between 5:30 a.m. and 1:20 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, on the 200 block of Monterey Road, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered the unlocked window of a residence and removed an Xbox, iPod, laptop computer, TV remote, knife, two pistols and a bag containing various ammunition. 

Commercial Burglary/Shoplift

At 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, at on the 600 block of Mission Street, South Pasadena Police reported that a market employee saw a suspect placing fruit into her purse. According to police reports, the employee detained the suspect as soon as she exited the store. 

At 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, at on the 800 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect ran out of the store with an iPod, case, and headphones after asking the employee asked to see the items. According to police reports, the employee chased after the suspect who then dropped the items. The suspect is described as an African American male approximately 5'6 and 140 pounds. 

Assaults

At 10:46 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, at the recycling center on the 1200 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect threw a box at a victim. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect. 

Possession of Controlled Substance

At 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, at Marmion Park on the 100 block of Marmion Way, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect with two warrants was found in possession of methamphetamine. According to police reports, the police confronted the suspect because he was parked in a no-parking zone. Initially, the suspect failed to provide an officer with his real name. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect. 

Theft

Between 7:00 a.m. on Friday, July 1 and 5:26 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, at the on the 900 block of Mission Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered a victim's room and removed a TV. 

Between 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 8 and 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, on the 1100 block of Diamond, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered a victim's trailer and removed a license plate. 

Between 8:30 a.m. on Monday, May 23 and 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, at on the 1100 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that unidentified suspects gained access to the business' safe and removed an undisclosed amount of checks and cash. 

Trespassing

Between Thursday, May 26 and Wednesday, June 29, at the intersection of Monterey and Loma Vista Court, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect riding his bicycle was found to have an outstanding warrant. Surveillance photos revealed that the 33-year-old Alhambra man had entered a victims property on Thursday, May 26. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect. 

Vandalism

Between 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 1 and Tuesday, July 5, at on the 1400 block of Fremont Avenue, South Pasadena police reported that suspects sprayed graffiti on walls, damaged a tree, and a bulletin board.  

Between 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 23 and 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 24, on the 700 block of Charter Oak Street, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect smashed the window of a victim's vehicle.
