Police Blotter: Shoplifting, Trespassing and a Parcel Package Theft

One car was stolen in South Pasadena during the week of Wednesday, December 8 through Tuesday, December 14.

At 12:55 a.m. on Wednesday, December 8, at the 200 block of Monterey Road, South Pasadena Police reported that a 2005 GMC truck was stolen. According to police reports, the victim saw the suspect drive away with the vehicle. The vehicle was later recovered in Los Angeles, police said.

At 3:28 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8, at the  on the 600 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect took a bottle of alcohol from the store and attempted to exit without paying. According to police reports, an employee contacted the police department, and the suspect ran away on foot when police arrived. At 1:44 p.m. on Thursday, December 9, at the intersection of Oxley Street and Fremont Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect borrowed a cell phone from a passerby on the street, and then ran away with the phone. Police found him several blocks away and arrested him.

At 12:06 a.m. on Friday, December 10, at the on the 600 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police responded to a report of suspicious people by the loading dock area of the market. According to police, four suspects were seen taking food from a dumpster behind a locked gate. South Pasadena police arrested the four suspects for unlawful removal and trespassing.

At 2:32 a.m. on Friday, December 10, at the 1100 block of Raymond Lane, South Pasadena Police reported that a bicyclist was stopped for a traffic violation. According to police, the suspect gave false information to the officer and was found to be in possession of marijuana. Police officers discovered he had an outstanding warrant, and police arrested the suspect.

At 5:42 p.m. on Friday, December 10, at the on the 1000 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect attempted to cash a fraudulent check. The suspect is described as a male, black, between 25-30 years of age, 5'10", 230 pounds, wearing a brown UPS uniform.

At 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, December 12, at the intersection of Orange Grove Avenue and Oliver Street, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect found to be under the influence of alcohol who was involved in a non-injury traffic collision.

At 3:28 p.m. on Sunday, December 12, at the intersection of Meridian Avenue and Monterey Road, South Pasadena Police responded to a suspicious person walking in the street. According to police reports, the suspect was found to be intoxicated and unable to care for herself. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

Between 2:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on Monday, December 13, at the 1800 block of Fremont Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect smashed the window of a 2000 Dodge Durango and took music equipment.

Between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Monday, December 13, at the 1700 block of Raymond Hill Road, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered a resident's opened garage and took two mountain bicycles.

Between 1 p.m. and 1:35 p.m. on Monday, December 13, at the 1100 block of Fairview Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered a resident's opened garage and took a bicycle. The suspect is described as a male, Hispanic, 18 years old, wearing a sweatshirt, black baseball cap and black backpack.

Between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Monday, December 13, at the 600 block of Prospect Avenue, South Pasadena Police that an unidentified suspect opened a parcel package on a resident's front porch and took a toy from inside the package.
