Police Blotter: 4 Residential Burglaries

Jewelry and three laptops were allegedly stolen in two residential burglaries Dec. 19 on La France Avenue.

The following crime and arrest information was supplied by the . It does not indicate a conviction.

DUI Checkpoint

Between 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17 and 2 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18, on the 400 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police concluded a DUI checkpoint that resulted in two DUI arrests, one marijuana possession arrest, three suspended driver's license arrests and one driving without a license arrest.

Residential Burglary

Between 9:43 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3 and 9:43 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17, on the 1500 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect pried open a locked storage room and removed a bicycle and backpack.

At 7 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, at an apartment complex on the 300 block of Pasadena Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a witness saw a suspect exit the apartment laundry room. According to reports, the witness saw prey marks around the door and contacted the police. Police arrested the suspect who possessed multiple burglary tools.

Between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, on the 1900 block of La France Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect pried open the door of a residence and removed jewelry and three laptop computers.

Between 10:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, on the 2000 block of La France Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect pried open the side door of a residence and removed jewelry.

Stolen Vehicle

Between 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8 and 10 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9, on the 1500 block of Stratford Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a '93 Toyota T-100 was stolen.

Between 12:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18, at , South Pasadena Police reported that a '01 Honda Civic was stolen.

Between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18, on the 1300 block of Huntington Drive, South Pasadena Police reported that a '95 Honda Accord was stolen.

Auto Burglary

Between 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17 and 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18, on the 1900 block of La France Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect removed a computer from a '07 Toyota Camry.

Between 11:26 a.m. and 2:08 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18, on the 600 block of Prospect Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect smashed the window of a '98 Honda Civic and removed a stereo and DVD player from the vehicle.

Commercial Burglary

At 7:15 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, at on Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect hid liquor in his backpack and exited the store without paying for it. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

Between 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14 and 8 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15, at a salon on the 800 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered the salon by removing the door and took hair and skin products, blankets, cash and jewelry.

Assault

At 1:50 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, on the 200 block of Pasadena Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a victim and suspect are related and got into an argument. According to reports, the suspect grabbed a dumbbell weight and hit the victim several times. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

At 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15, at the intersection of Monterey Road and Pasadena Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a victim is approached by suspects, who are his acquaintances. According to reports, the suspects started to hit the victim and the victim ran away.

Armed Robbery

At 11:13 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15, at the intersection of Mound Avenue and Monterey Road, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect approached a victim walking on the street. According to reports, the suspect pointed a gun at the victim and took cash, iPhone and wallet. The suspect entered an awaiting vehicle driven by a second suspect, police said. The first suspect is described as a black male with a slender build, wearing a bandana over the face. The second suspect is described as a heavy-set black male, wearing a long sleeve shirt with a sports logo. The suspects' vehicle is described as red/burgandy two-door sedan with modified exhaust.

Receiving Stolen Property

At 12:23 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 19, on the 900 block of El Centro Street, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspct had false regristation tabs on a vehicle and a suspended driver's license. The suspect's vehicle was reportedly stolen in Los Angeles. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

Possession of Marijuana

At 8:57 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at the intersection of Fremont Avenue and Spruce Street, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect stopped for a traffic violation possessed marijuana. According to reports, the suspects had a suspended driver's license and an outstanding warrant. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

At 12:17 p.m. on Wednesday,  Dec. 7, at the on Fremont Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that school officials found a suspect with marijuana. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

DUI

At 4 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18, on the 600 block of Monterey Road, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect found driving under the influence of alcohol.

Theft

Between 6 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 5 and 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7, on the 100 block of Marmion Way, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect removed brass anti-siphon valves from the exterior of a condominium complex.

Between 3 p.m. and 3:05 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at , South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect removed a Kindle and Blackberry from a victim's unattended bag.

At 11:57 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8, on the 1900 block of Mill Road, South Pasadena Police reported that a six to eight juvenile suspects entered an unlocked storage cabinet in an apartment carport. No loss was reported.

Between 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9 and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, on the 2000 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect took an unattended cell phone from a victim.

Between 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13 and 7:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14, on the 1000 block of Milan Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect entered a victim's unlocked vehicle and removed a laptop.

Between 9 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18 and 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20, on the 1000 block of Glendon Way, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect removed registration tabs from a victim's vehicle.
