UPDATED Police Blotter: Vandalism, Assault and Auto Burglary

There were four vandalism incidents reported in South Pasadena during the week of Wednesday, April 13 through Tuesday, April 19.

UPDATED -The Alhambra Police Department arrested a suspect allegedly involved in the series of evening street robberies targeting women driving home in the San Gabriel Valley on Wednesday. Jose Avila, 29, of Chino, was taken into custody for his connection with the more than 20 armed robberies. South Pasadena Police believe the suspect is responsible for a robbery that occurred at 1 a.m. on Primrose Avenue on March 24. For more on Patch's coverage, click

Between 9:40 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, on 1700 block of Via Del Rey, reported that an unidentified suspect pried open a family room window to enter a residence and removed jewelry and a safe.

At 11:16 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13, at the on Garfield Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect exited the store without paying for groceries. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

At 2:42 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, at the intersection of El Centro Street and Orange Grove Avenue, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect with false registration tabs on a vehicle.

Between 9:50 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, at on Oak Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect scratched a victim’s vehicle.

Between 12 a.m. on Friday, April 15 and 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, at the 1100 block of Mound Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect removed a bicycled that was locked to a staircase.

Between 6 p.m. on Friday, April 15 and 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, at on Via Del Rey, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect sprayed shaving cream on and punched a small hole into an office window.

At 2:40 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, on the 1100 block of Monterey Road, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect found driving under the influence of alcohol.

Between 12:31 p.m. and 1:16 p.m. Saturday, April 16, on the 1100 block of Beech Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect smashed the window of an ’05 Ford Explorer.

Between 10:55 a.m. and 12:55 a.m. on Sunday, April 17, on the 700 block of Prospect Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect removed a bicycle secured to a bike rack.

Between 3:56 p.m. and 4:14 p.m. on Sunday, April 17, on the 400 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect scratched a victim’s vehicle.

At 5:53 p.m. on Sunday, April 17, on the 1600 block of Amberwood Drive, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect with false registration tabs on a vehicle. According to police reports, the suspect also had an outstanding warrant and was an unlicensed driver.

Between 10 p.m. on Sunday, April 17 and 5 p.m. on Monday, April 18, on the 300 block of Pasadena Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect remove a bicycle secured to a pole.

Between 6:57 a.m. and 7:20 a.m. on Monday, April 18, at on Oak Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect vandalized the school cafeteria and construction site.

At 3:10 p.m. on Monday, April 18, at the 2100 block of Huntington Drive, South Pasadena Police reported that a victim got into an argument with a suspect. According to police reports, the suspect pushed the victim several times against a wall. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

Between 9 p.m. on Monday, April 18 and 12 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, on the 1200 block of Huntington Drive, South Pasadena Police reported that a ’94 Honda Accord was stolen.

At 5:54 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, on the 1700 block of Milan Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a witness saw a suspect break into a victim’s vehicle and run away with a briefcase. The suspect is described as a white male wearing black pants and a jacket.

Between 11:11 a.m. and 11:35 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, on the 1700 block of Monterey Road, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect removed registration tabs from a victim’s vehicle.

Between 10:45 a.m. and 12:23 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, on the 500 block of Grand Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect cut a window screen to enter a residence and removed cash, jewelry, an I-pod and two laptop computers.

At 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, at the on Huntington Drive, South Pasadena Police reported that an Alhambra PD Officer stopped a suspect in possession of stolen liquor from Big Lots. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.
