Police Alert: Woman Snatches Wallet, Nets a MacBook

Just turning away from the cart for a minute? That's enough time for thieves to plunder a purse.

It didn't take long for the thief to swipe the credit card straight from a shopper's purse at Bristol Farms, and not much longer to charge a MacBook computer several towns away.

And fill up with gas in between.

South Pasadena Police say the victim was shopping at the market about 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 19 when she left her purse in a shopping cart to browse another section. An unidentified woman snatched the shopper's credit card and within two hours had purchased gas from Chevron and bought electrontics from Best Buy in West Hollywood.
