Bicyclist Found With 23 Pounds of Marijuana

Marco Solis, 53, was stopped in the 300 block of Monterey Road. He was charged and booked into Pasadena City Jail where he is being held on $50,000 bail.

A San Gabriel man was charged for transporting $23,000-worth of marijuana on his bicycle Thursday morning on the 300 block of Monterey Road, police report. 

Around 2:30 a.m., Corporal Jason Lucas of the stopped bicyclist Marco Solis, 53, for multiple vehicle code violations—including riding his bike without a required front headlamp and rear reflector in the 300 block of Monterey Rd.—while working a burglary suppression assignment.

A further investigation by Corporal Lucas and assisting officers revealed 23 pounds of marijuana hidden inside an Igloo water cooler the suspect was carrying as he rode his bike.

The marijuana has an estimated street value of approximately $23,000, according to police. 

Solis was also found to be on felony probation for narcotics. Solis was charged and booked into Pasadena City Jail where he is being held on $50,000 bail for charges related to possessing and transporting marijuana for sale, police report.
