Police: DVD Thief Breaks Away from Employee, Jumps into Getaway Car

Surveillance footage from Pavilions captured these images of the suspect.

A Pavilions employee who saw a DVD stuffed into a man's pants confronted that man and chased him out of the store, where he took off in an awaiting car, according to a South Pasadena Police report.

The employee heard "stuffing motions,'' after the would-be customer had placed DVDs in a shopping cart just before 4:30 p.m. on June 17. As the suspect walked by, the employee noticed the outline of a DVD in his pants, and chased him outside the store, at 1213 Fair Oaks Ave.

As the employee confronted the suspect, another person drove up and the suspect jumped into the car, which sped away.
