Police Offer 24/7 Crime Mapping Tool

South Pasadena Police Department adds a new online tool for residents to view crime statistics.

Residents can now access crime reports 24/7 through a website that also offers an iPhone app, announced Friday.

“Providing the community the ability to directly access crime information through online data mapping allows the police department to share crime data in almost real-time," Police Chief Joseph Payne said in a press release. "Having crime information available to the public can help prevent crime in our neighborhoods.”

The City's crime reports are now available through CrimeReports.com. The new service also allows community members to sign up for free customizable email alerts, submit anonymous crime tips and access info easily through the iPhone.
