Police: Woman Lifts Wallet, Steals $8K

The South Pasadena Police Department has released two photos of a suspect they say stole a person's driver's license and credit cards.

South Pasadena Police are looking for a woman whom they say stole $8,000 after lifting a wallet belonging to a shopper at Pavilions.

The unidentified suspect allegedly swiped the wallet while shopping at the Fair Oaks Avenue market on Oct. 9. Within an hour of the theft, police say, the suspect used the victim’s driver’s license and credit cards to withdraw $4,000 from JP Morgan Chase Bank, and get an additional $4,000 from Bank of America, both in Pasadena. Additionally, authorities said, the woman tried to purchase more than $900 in gift cards and prepaid phone cards from the Pasadena Target.

If you have any information that could assist in the suspect’s identification, please call SPPD Det. Sgt. Jim Valencia at (626) 403-7283.
