Pasadena Police Donate $5000 to Officer Sandoval's Family

Sandoval, 23, died after collapsing and hitting his head at the Burro Canyon Shooting range in June 2011.

Pasadena Police Department (PPD) presented a check Tuesday for $5,000 to the parents of South Pasadena Police Officer Kevin Sandoval,

Sandoval's death a result of natural causes related to coronary heart disease in September. This was the second death on the South Pas Police Department since 1944.

The money donated Tuesday was collected through a SWAT competition. Sandoval was part of the Special Enforcement Team that regularly trained with the Pasadena Department.
