South Pasadena Post Office Burglarized

Mail is missing from the building, according to police.

The United States Post Office in South Pasadena at 1001 Fremont Ave. was broken into on Saturday and some mail was stolen, according to the South Pasadena Police Department.

The burglary was reported at 1:38 a.m. after some employees found that a deadbolt on a door had been forced open, according to Officer Richard Lee.

The missing mail was taken from an office area in the back that only employees have access to during business hours, Lee said. How much mail was stolen and what the total potential loss adds up to is not known, in part because the case has been turned over the the United States Postal Inspection Service, Lee said.

No other damage besides the broken deadbolt was reported, according to Lee.
