The Temecula teen was riding his skateboard across Rancho California Road against the flow of traffic when he was struck by a vehicle traveling north on Ynez through the intersection, sheriff's Sgt. John Magnan said.

The driver, a 20-year-man, stayed at the scene and spoke with deputies. No alcohol, drugs or other impairment were involved, Magnan said.

The intersection was closed for more than five hours during the accident investigation.

Many residents consider the intersection one of the most dangerous in the city. To read what Temecula residents said about the intersection, . To see a video about it, .

I knew his brother by the end of the school year. Tristan is so awesome. I didn't know Noah that much. Last thing I remember I him was him being in the principals office for yelling at his teacher, the supervisor, secretary and the principal. And I saw him at times during lunch. I know a couple of his close friends.

The helmet law was introduced because of an adult from church who moved to Maryland but when he was a teen his friend was hit and killed by a car and he wasn't wearing a helmet. I don't wear a helmet when I am riding my scooter to get the mail at the end of the street in a Cul-di-sac or just riding around my neighborhood (still a little bit dangerous) BUT I always wear a helmet when I am riding to Walmart or to stores our off my neighborhood.

Whoever told you that the driver should get arrested for killing the boy should really go to counseling. If I am driving a car not breaking the law (no drinking, no running red lights or anything) it's not my fault. If the kid I hit rides through the crosswalk right before the signal stays stop and then stops and I don't see him and go through, when was it my fault for hitting him. Who told you the driver should get arrested? Let's have a talk with those people. A little bit may be the kids fault but it would not be my fault if I was the driver.
