UPDATE: September Pre-Trial Hearing Date for Morris Gussin

Former South Pasadena resident has a new pre-trial hearing date set for next month.

At an  in Los Angeles, Judge Dennis Landin scheduled Morris Gussin’s next pre-trial hearing for Wednesday, Sept. 14 at Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center.

Gussin, also known as the "," is facing 24 counts of grand theft and security violations for his alleged involvement in a $3.4 million in which he is charged with falsely leading clients to believe he was investing their money. In April, that would have landed him a maximum of nine years in prison.

“Currently, we have been assigned to a trial judge,” said Gussin’s attorney, George Newhouse of Brown, White & Newhouse. “We have every expectation that Judge Landin will set a trail date in the future.”

South Pasadena Detective William Earley said that the case is likely being pushed back to give the defense attorney more time to review evidence.

Gussin is currently being held at Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles.
