Watch Your Wallet at The Supermarket
A string of grocery store thefts have been reported in the neighborhood.
has reported an increase in distraction
thefts at supermarkets in which a suspect will take a wallet from the victim's purse while shopping.
Per the department's June newsletter:
The female victims will usually place her purse inside the baby seat of the shopping cart, as one suspect will distract the victim. As the victim is being distracted, the second suspect will take the wallet from the victim’s purse. Both suspects leave and the victim is unaware of the loss until she is at the checkout line.

The suspects will immediately use the victim’s credit card, sometimes even before the victim leaves the store.
