Water Capacity at Critically Low Levels

A power outage caused by high winds has resulted in a pump failure to South Pasadena water storage, according to South Pas Police.

Update 8:36 a.m.: Initial assessments of the outage points to a water pump failure from an electrical outage of a pump in the City of San Gabriel that supplies South Pasadena's reservoirs.

With power outages in the City since midnight, there is still no estimated time in which power will be restored.

The north end of the City from about Hope Street and the Monterey Hills are without water and there's low water pressure throughout the rest of the Cty.

Water capacity and pressure are at critical low levels. Edison is working on the problem but it is not known when power will be restored, police report. Residents and business owners are urged to conserve water until further notice and until power can be restored.
