Wet Weather Causes Traffic Collision, Tree Down

Long periods of dry weather before rains in Southern California can make the roads especially slick and dangerous when the rain finally comes.

A car spun out of control and hit a brick wall at a residence on Via Del Rey Wednesday in South Pasadena, Police reported.

This traffic collision and a fallen tree on Oakcrest Avenue were the result of the first storm of season.

Neither resulted in any injuries. But the tree was resting on power lines and the City was still waiting on Edison to show, police said around 4 p.m.

The National Weather Service (NWS) says the storm, expected to last through Thursday, could bring a half to 1 inch of rain in coastal and valley areas. However, rainfall could total up to 2 inches in isolated areas facing mountain slopes.

Periods of gusty winds will likely accompany the rainfall.
