Cacciotti 'Overwhelmed' by Assembly Support

Cacciotti credited his early support to several elected officials and community leaders.

South Pasadena Mayor, and California Assembly District 41 candidate, Michael Cacciotti announced Thursday that he has raised $108,953 for in the first six weeks since he announced his intentions to run in late November.

“I’m overwhelmed by the strong rush of support I’ve received so far in this campaign,” Cacciotti said. “The incredible financial support I’ve been getting in only the first six weeks will help me get to know the concerns of the voters by extending my campaign in every corner of District 41.”

Cacciotti credited his early support from several elected officials and community leaders as a key reason he has been able to raise as much as he has so quickly.  Among the elected officials who have already endorsed Michael Cacciotti are:

  • State Controller John Chiang;
  • San Bernardino County Supervisor Josie Gonzales;
  • Upper San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District Director Charles Treviño;
  • South Pasadena School Board Member Joseph Loo;
  • South Pasadena City Councilmembers Richard Schneider, David Sifuentes, and Philip Putnam;
  • Azusa City Councilmember and President of the San Gabriel Valley Council of Government Angel Carrillo;
  • Pasadena School Board Member Ramon Miramontes;
  • Pasadena Community College Trustee Linda Wah; and
  • Rosemead City Councilmember Polly Low.

Michael Cacciotti is a Deputy Attorney General for the California Department of Justice and an elected member of the South Pasadena City Council.  Serving the people of South Pasadena since 2001, he is currently serving his third term as Mayor and has served two terms as Mayor Pro Tem.

An environmental advocate, Michael also serves as a liaison to several local city commissions. He has been an advisory board member on the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy since 2001 and a governing board member on the South Coast Air Quality Management District, representing the eastern region of Los Angeles County, since 2008. 

He was a volunteer at St. Vincent's Meals on Wheels for over a decade, currently volunteers at South Pasadena’s local Senior Center, and has served as a youth (AYSO), high school, and college soccer coach for over 30 years.  Michael has lived in the district for almost 20 years.  He and his wife, Annie, live in South Pasadena with their labrador retrievers, Winston and Romeo.
