City Copes with Power Outages (Photos)

Between police guarding Gold Line crossings and an emergency shelter at Senior Center, City has responded to the emergency situation this weekend.

Gold Line crossing arms at key junctions were out of service Friday and SP police responded by posting officers to protect motorists and pedestrians. Trains approached the crossing at crawling pace until they were sure there was no vehicles crossing tracks.

A City emergency shelter was opened at the Senior Center; residents who showed up were greeted by City officials and Red Cross personnel. The City also provided food and refreshments. Cots were available for those who chose to spend the night.
