City Now Offers Bill Pay Over the Phone, Online

South Pasadena transitioned to Global Water for utility and refuse billing on Jan. 2.

The City of South Pasadena is trumpeting two new improvements to its utility services.

The transition to partner with Global Water for utility and refuse billing began on Jan. 2. City officials estimate the transition to continue for another 60 days.

“We are excited about the partnership and look forward to providing our residents with the latest technology to better manage our collective water resources,” Chu Thai, city finance director, said in a prepared statement.

The improvements to service include a toll-free number to answer questions about customers' accounts or bills, or to make payments over the phone. To access these services, please call (855) 518-4012, Monday through Thursday between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., or on Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4p.m.

Another enhancement to service, according to the city, is customers may now pay online. The portal allows customers to pay their utility bills, free of charge, with a credit card, debit card, or by eCheck. The secured site can be reached at https://southpasadena.gwfathom.com.

As the transition continues, the functionality of the site will increase incrementally until the full customer account management portal is implemented, which will allow customers to view consumption and payment history, the press release states. Customers currently on FlashPay will continue to be on the program without any interruption.

For utility payments and questions, please call (855) 518-4012.

So very happy that So Pas has finally made this move. I realize this is a sm. city, but if Mom & Pop businesses can welcome the techno age, so should city governments.

If the power lines belong to SCE (Southern California Edison), lines going from a pole to anotherRead More pole - not the ones feeding your home, call them. They are the ones who can help you on this matter.

You can definitely follow specific news! If you only wanted to follow police and fire, for example,Read More click on the News tab on the home page. Then, down the left side of the page are multiple news categories. Click the one you want and then it'll ask you if you want to receive email updates about this topic. Once you do, it'll show you as "subscribed.'' If you follow "Top News'' you receive updates on all stories.

Personally I do not want to get updates on all stories under a given category. It is too bad that weRead More can no longer follow specific stories as we used to.... As it is I get too many e-mails.... I hope patch will consider to allow following of specific stories instead of all stories under a given category.
